Michael Buchbinder
Founder & Managing Partner
Michael Buchbinder is a senior investment banker and strategic advisor with nearly two decades of experience guiding private equity sponsors, growth investors, and CEOs through complex M&A and capital markets transactions. Over his career, he has advised across the Technology, Media, Education and Services sectors, representing billions of dollars in transaction value. Known for his judgment in high-stakes situations and a deep understanding of the “private equity playbook,” Michael brings a rare combination of board-level perspective and hands-on execution expertise, making him a trusted partner in pivotal moments for sophisticated institutional investors.
Prior to founding Buchbinder & Co., Michael was Managing Director and US Head of Education Technology & Services Investment Banking at Rothschild & Co and Oppenheimer & Co., where he advised private equity and growth equity funds and their portfolio companies on M&A and recapitalizations. He began his career at Deutsche Bank and Bank of Montreal (BMO).
Michael holds a JD/MBA from The Wharton School and Carey School of Law at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Yeshiva University.
He lives in New York with his wife, Ilana, and their 4 children.
Andrew Solomon
Managing Director
Andrew Solomon is a Managing Director at Buchbinder & Co. with nearly a decade of experience spanning growth investing and technology investment banking. Andrew's dual experience across transaction advisory for sponsor-backed assets and new deal evaluation / exit monetization within a sponsor gives him a differentiated perspective regarding how complex liquidity decisions are formulated and executed.
Prior to joining Buchbinder & Co., Andrew served as an investment professional at Owl Ventures, investing across stages in the education technology and future of work sectors. Prior to Owl Ventures, Andrew served as an investment banker in the technology investment banking practices at Jefferies and Oppenheimer & Co.
Andrew holds a degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
